This conference showcases how applied research is driving the transition to a sustainable, biobased economy. Participants will explore developments in fermentation, green chemistry, circular materials, and Life Cycle Analysis, and discover how collaboration, innovation, and societal engagement are shaping the solutions of tomorrow.

We are glad to invite you to an inspiring day filled with valuable insights and knowledge sharing at the Conference Biobased Economy. This event is organized by the Lectorenplatform Biobased Economy, which focuses on the innovation and adoption of biobased materials and energy.

On Thursday November 13th,  we will bring together (associate) lectoren, (teacher) researchers, practoren, and anyone interested in the biobased transition.

Explore the state of transition

Join Martijn Zieverink (Lector Biobased Transitions, MNEXT – Avans University of Applied Sciences) with his keynote “The State of Transition.”  Using the Multi-Level Perspective on sustainability transitions, the talk will reflect on the current state of the biobased transition and opportunities for Universities of Applied Sciences.

Panel Discussion

Join the Panel Discussion where experts from different fields will share their views on how to strengthen collaboration and explore the future of the biobased economy.

Lunch & Poster Presentations

During lunch, you can explore poster presentations showcasing the latest research and initiatives in the biobased field — the perfect opportunity to connect and collaborate.

Learn, share, and exchange ideas

Take part in the two rounds of parallel sessions on a variety of themes, such as fermentation, green chemistry, biobased transitions and LCA — each theme features multiple presentations showcasing innovative research and practical applications.
Between the sessions, you can visit the poster presentations and exchange ideas during the break.
