Diederik Samsom is the former leader of the PvdA, an entrepreneur, and Chief of Cabinet to the European Commissioner for Climate Action. With his extensive experience and expertise in sustainability, innovation, energy, and climate, as well as his in-depth knowledge of political dynamics, Diederik inspires companies, organizations, and governments to actively contribute to a more sustainable world.

Students in Action
During the walk-in and lunch, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore the work of no fewer than 50 interns proudly presenting their projects through poster sessions. A great chance to see how the next generation of professionals is already contributing to the transition.

TED-NEXT and Workshops
After lunch, the TED-NEXT talks will take place, where professors and researchers bring current topics to life. In the afternoon, visitors can join interactive workshops and excursions. Learn more about the protein transition, hydrogen as a sustainable energy carrier, building with clay, or even create your own smart energy meters. With a total of 18 workshops, there’s bound to be something that piques your interest.

The day will conclude with a networking reception and the award ceremony for the Future Rethinkers Poster Challenge. In short, the Future Rethinkers Congress is the place to discover, learn, connect, and most importantly put the transition into action, together.
