Webinar Biochar
Biochar, produced by pyrolyzing biomass in low-oxygen conditions, is a carbon-rich material with a wide range of applications. It enhances soil fertility, captures carbon, adsorbs pollutants, and strengthens materials like cement, concrete, and composites. Its versatility makes it invaluable for agriculture, environmental remediation, and materials science, advancing sustainability and industrial innovation.
Join us on February 13th for a thematic session with two speakers: Qian Zhou, Associate lector of Biobased Resources and Energy at Avans University of Applied Sciences, will share insights on biochar applications in energy production and polymer composites. Simon Hageman, Associate lector of Sustainable Energy Systems at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, will present a feasibility case study exploring the potential of a biochar and energy production facility in Twente, The Netherlands.
