A new group of RWE employees successfully completed the Smart Energy lab training at Avans Hogeschool . They now have even more knowledge of the behaviour of our electricity system during the energy transition. Indeed, Lucas-Nülle Training Systems provides a clear picture of the contribution of solar and wind to our electricity supply and the effect of further electrification. Now that’s some knowledge you can use if you want to accelerate the energytransition right now!
A lot is about to happen in the energy transition so it is vital that we collectively make informed decisions regarding the impact on our power grid. Through learning by doing, participants learned how to apply technical knowledge in the areas of smart grids, energy storage, renewable energy sources and energy management systems directly in practice. “What seems mostly abstract at first is easily turned into something insightful in this training” said one of the enthusiastic trainees. “In addition, we are allowed to make mistakes in the SEnD Lab because then it becomes immediately visible how these mistakes affect the electricity network”. So a learning experience for all participants!
The group included Avans alumni and served as preparation for the Hollandse Kust West project. For the teachers, it was therefore extra special to see the former electrical engineering students again after several years. Avans is involved in the offshore wind farm as a knowledge partner.
