The biobased economy refers to the transition from an economy that runs on fossil raw materials such as oil and coal to an economy that runs on biomass as a raw material. The Biobased Network is a collaboration between application centers in the south of the Netherlands that are committed to this transition.
The Biobased Network is a result of the BIK (Biobased Infrastructure and Knowledge) project and has been made possible in part by a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund, the government, the provinces of Limburg and Noord-Brabant in the context of OPZuid.
