The research at the Smart Energy research group focuses on energy conservation and the integration of sustainable sources into our energy system. The focus is on technological developments that can contribute to this.
The Smart Energy lectorate has three research lines:
- Measuring & Knowing: gives consumers, companies and governments more insight into their energy consumption, so that they can make the right decisions about their energy management.
- Integrating & Linking: integrates decentralised sustainable energy sources with a non-controllable supply pattern such as solar and wind and conversion and storage systems into the existing energy infrastructure. Both in and around buildings, in neighbourhoods, on business parks and in industry. The aim is to make the energy system more sustainable.
- Consuming Less & Prosuming: focuses on the possibilities of facilitating energy-efficient behaviour and the use of sustainable energy by consumers, companies and governments with technical tools, with the aim of accelerating the transition to a sustainable energy management.
What does the research group offer?
The Smart Energy research group conducts applied research for and with external partners. We involve students in this as much as possible. We also offer interesting minor, internship and graduation assignments. If you have a question within one of our research themes, please contact us. We will then look together whether and how we can address the question and what the possibilities are to obtain a subsidy for this. We are always interested in enthusiastic lecturers who want to do research at our lectorate. We have hours available for this. If you are interested, please contact us.
